Math with Flynn (“I”, “me”) provides math tutoring online and in person. This policy explains what information I collect when you visit mathwithflynn.com, book a session or work with me, and how I use and protect it. Most of my students are minors, so I keep information to what I need to teach well and run the business.
What I collect
- Consult requests. When you use the form on this site: your name, email, optional phone number, who the tutoring is for, the class or test, school (optional), online or in-person preference, your message, bootcamp interest, and how you heard about me.
- Bookings. When you book through my scheduling page: your name, email, the time you choose, your answers to intake questions, and, for in-person sessions, the address where we will meet.
- Payments. Your name, email, phone number and the amount paid. Card details are entered on Stripe’s secure checkout and are never seen or stored by me.
- Tutoring records. The student’s name, grade, school, classes, goals, session notes, progress updates, and attendance and billing history.
- Messages. Emails and texts you send me.
- Basic technical data. Like any website, the hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and reliability. This site does not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies.
How I use it
- To reply to your request, schedule sessions and send reminders.
- To plan lessons and share progress notes with parents or guardians.
- To take payments, send receipts and keep business and tax records.
- To keep the website and my accounts secure.
I do not sell or rent your information, share it for advertising, or use it to build marketing profiles.
Services I use
I rely on a few trusted providers to run the business. They handle information only to provide their service to me:
- Netlify: website hosting and the consult form.
- Cal.com: online scheduling.
- Stripe: payment processing.
- TutorBird: student records, scheduling, invoices and reminders.
- Google: email (Gmail), calendar, video sessions (Google Meet), and one web font loaded from Google Fonts.
- Ziteboard: the shared digital whiteboard used in online sessions.
I may also share information if the law requires it, to protect a student’s safety, or to protect my rights in a dispute.
Students and children
Tutoring for students under 18 is arranged by a parent or guardian, and I collect information about younger students from their parent or guardian. I do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent me information without a parent’s involvement, email me and I will delete it.
Sessions are not recorded unless a parent or guardian asks me to and the student agrees. Progress notes about a minor are shared only with that student’s parents or guardians.
How long I keep it
I keep tutoring records while a student is working with me and for up to 12 months afterward, in case you come back. Payment and tax records are kept as long as tax law requires. You can ask me to delete your information sooner, except for records I am required to keep.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete the information I hold about you or your student, or ask me to stop contacting you. Email flynn@mathwithflynn.com and I will respond within 30 days. I will not treat you differently for making a request.
Security
I use reputable, secure services, protect my accounts with strong passwords, and keep student information to what I need. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable care to protect your information.
Changes
If I change this policy, I will post the new version here with a new date.
